Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pick Me (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the Pick Me web application and related services (the “Service”). Pick Me is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from individuals under 18, and we do not direct the Service to children.

The Service processes the following information:

• Account and sign-in information. You sign in with Google. We receive basic account information, including your name, email address, and Google account identifier. Convex Auth manages sign-in and sessions, and we use an account identifier to associate your profile and conversations with you.
• Display name. The name you choose during onboarding is stored in your profile and included when generating replies.
• Conversation content. Messages you exchange with personas are stored on our backend so you can resume conversations later. Each conversation is stored as a separate session tied to your account. The messages may contain any personal details you choose to share.
• Service and support information. Our hosting providers process request and error information to run the Service. If you email support, we receive the information you include in your message.

• To provide and maintain the Service.
• To generate AI responses by sending your chosen display name, recent messages from the current conversation, and an internal account identifier to xAI.
• To respond to support requests you initiate with us.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, or violations of our terms.

These providers support the web application and its backend. Their processing is also governed by the terms and privacy policies applicable to their services.

• Convex. Authentication through Convex Auth, database storage for profiles and conversations, and server functions for chat and account management.
• Vercel. Hosting and delivery of the web application.
• xAI. AI responses generated from your display name and recent conversation messages sent by our backend, with an internal account identifier attached to the request.
• Google. Account authentication and the basic profile information used to establish your Pick Me account.

Your conversations are stored so you can return to them. Open a conversation, select the trash button in its header, and confirm “Delete conversation” to remove it from your account and start deletion of its messages. Message cleanup runs in the background.

You can request account deletion from the account menu by choosing “Delete account.” This removes your account and starts deletion of its profile, conversations, and messages. Deletion cannot be undone through the app.

Deleting app data does not necessarily delete records held by service providers, such as operational logs or backups. Contact us for questions about a specific record or provider.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA / CPRA). You can exercise these rights at any time by deleting your account in-app or by emailing kanishk.chores@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

Pick Me is intended exclusively for users who are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is higher). It is a companionship service built for adults. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If we become aware that a user does not meet this requirement, we will terminate the account and delete associated data.

The web application connects to its services over HTTPS. Backend functions check the signed-in account before returning or changing its conversations, and AI and authentication credentials remain on the backend. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Service providers may process information outside your country of residence. The current application database is deployed in the European region of Convex; this does not mean every provider processes all information in that region. Contact us for questions about where your information is processed.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated in-app where appropriate.
